Edition: 10 plus 2 APs
Challenging conventional ideas of portrait photography, the Portrait In Yellow asks what truly defines identity and instead uses body language, colour and rhythm to evoke a sense of the individual.
In a world where social media is becoming so intertwined in our sense of self that the virtual identity is taking over. The selfie, with its repetitive gestures, forms, framing and filters is homogenising our individuality, creating shallow, static reductions of identity.
"Portrait In Yellow" is a self-portrait, yet she is a liminal body in movement, intended to evade definition and capture.
